M.E.N tips Mica as “The next big thing”

Ahead of her debut solo performance at Nailedit! in Manchester in January, Mica was tipped as “the next big thing” by the Manchester Evening News who featured the Castle Hotel’s monthly showcase event in their City Life segment.

“One thing Manchester does consistently well is put on nights that showcase the best new talent around. We’re quick off the mark when it comes to identifying which bands could be big in the future – and it’s almost a must for venues that they lay on a night that seeks to show us who will be rocking our world on massive stages in years to come.

One of those properly good talent showcases has been Nailed It! a regular now at the Castle Hotel on Oldham street…

…Second up is Mica Millar, these days well known for her Reform Radio show where she has carved out a niche identifying the modern classics coming out of Manchester’s Neo soul, ambient and hip hop music scenes.

Here she’ll be playing a solo – she’s most commonly caught live as part of duo Mica & Kardanski, the latter a former member of Kid British – as she gears up to release her debut solo album, which reportedly “sees her go back to her roots in neo soul, jazz and trip hop.”
